Special Education

Our department offers structured classes that reflect a range of programs that are suited for your child's individual learning needs.  This year we are especially excited that our self-contained, collaborative and resource room students will be exposed to the technology of Smart Boards.  This is an instructional tool that will bring a multidimensional facet to learning that will be exciting and motivational to students.Additionally, our department continues to seek innovative ways to offer students support through technology, research based reading programs, curriculum pacing guides, individualized services and after school activities that provide academic reinforcement and promote school involvement.

As always, our goal is to increase student achievement by setting high expectations for behavior and academics through individualized and modified instruction.  We align this instruction to the state curriculum standards and dare to challenge our students to perform to their highest potential.  Our district leadership, Principal, department chair people, teachers, assistants and support staff are committed to working toward this goal.  At Pomona we welcome parents and guardians to share in this commitment so that together we can move forward to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students and your children.
