Covid-19 Guidance

Covid-19 Guidance

Si yon moun teste pozitif pou COVID-19, li dwe izole epi rete lakay yo pandan 5 jou apre rezilta yo.

ERCSD Fever Protocol

Students that present with temperature of 100 degrees or higher should not remain in school. Students may return to school when they remain afebrile (without temperature or temperature below 99 degress) for 24 hours.  In other words, if a student is sent home with a temperature on Monday, the earliest the student may return is Wednesday provided that the student is afebrile on Tuesday.

Those students with influenza must remain out of school for 7 days from the first sign of the flu symptoms. Students may not return to school earlier than 7 days even if a physician's note is provided.  In other words, if the student begins to feel ill on Monday the student may return to school the following Monday provided the student has been afebrile for 24 hours prior to the return.  This recommendation is from the Rockland County Department of Health and our school district.

Let us work together to STOP the spread of illness in our school !!!

Vaccinations

Dear Parents/Guardians,

New York State requires all students have all their mandated vaccinations up-to-date for school attendance. The Rockland County Department of Health Immunization clinics  have immunizations free of charge for school aged children Wednesdays 8:45 AM-11:00 AM.  For an appointment, please call (845)364-2497 *(845)364-2519*(845)364-2520.

New York State mandates documentation of immunizations in October.

In addition, all 7th grade students need Physical exams. This can be done by the child's private physician or will be performed by the school physician.

All completed dental certificates need to be handed in to the nurse's office.

The New York State Department of Education requires all medications in school must be reported to the school.
Medication should be given during school hours only if a schedule cannot be worked out whereby medications can be given at home. All requests must be accompanied by the physcian's and parents'/guardians' signature.

School personnel are aware under certain circumstances it may be absolutely necessary for a student to take medication during school hours. The school nurse may administer medication that is ordered by a physician. Permission in writing from the parent/guardian must be submitted (see attached form)  so that such medications may be administered to the student.

ALL MEDICATION MUST BE PROPERLY LABELED BY THE PHARMACIST AND NEEDS TO  INCLUDE THE STUDENT'S NAME, NAME OF DRUG, DOSAGE, TIME OF ADMINISTRATION AND DATE.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT/GUARDIAN TO DELIVER ALL MEDICATIONS TO THE SCHOOL NURSE. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BRING THEIR OWN MEDICATION TO SCHOOL.

Medication should be given during school hours only if a schedule cannot be worked out whereby medications can be given at home. All requests must be accompanied by the physcian's and parents'/guardians' signature. Please see attached forms.
